Man held with 15-kg hemp in Kishoreganj

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in a drive arrested a man along with 15 kilograms of hemp from Bhairab upazila in Kishoreganj district on Saturday evening.

The arrested is Md Saddam, from Khatura village under Madhabpur upazila in Habiganj district.
Confirming the matter, RAB-14 CPC-2 Bhairab Camp squad commander ASP Md Shahidullah said acting on a tip-off, a team of the elite force set a check-post on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway and arrested the man along with the drugs while searching a private car.

A mobile phone, Tk 500 cash were also seized from his possession, he said.

A case was filed with Bhairab Police Station against him under Narcotics Control Act and legal actions will be taken in this regard, added the RAB official.
