Four people including a woman were arrested along with drugs in separate drives in two districts - Rajshahi and Chapainawabganj, on Sunday.
RAJSHAHI: Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), in two separate drives, detained three drug peddlers including a female along with 1,178 bottles of phensedyl from Bagha Upazila in the district on Sunday night.
The arrested persons are: Rubel Islam, 32, son of Shawkat Ali, Sohel Rana, 30, son of Arman Ali, and Sonabhan, 27, wife of Shahidul Islam. All of them are residents of Bagha Upazila in the district.
RAB sources said that acting on a tip-off, a team of the elite force conducted a sudden drive in Alaipur Modyapara area under Bagha Upazila at around 9:30 pm, and arrested Rubel and Sohel Rana along with 850 bottles of phensedyl red-handed.
Besides, another team of the elite force detained Sonabhan along with 328 bottles of phensedyl after searching her house in Pakuria Village under the same upazila at around 8:45 pm.
Later on, the arrested persons along with the seized goods were handed over to Bagha Police Station (PS) after filing of two separate cases under the Narcotics Control Act against them.
CHAPAINAWABGANJ: members of RAB, in a drive, arrested a drug peddler along with two kilograms of hemp from Chapainawabganj Municipality area on Sunday evening.
The arrested man is Md Rabiul Islam, 28, a resident of Puraton Bazar Swarno Patti in the municipality area.
RAB-5 sources said that acting on a tip-off, an operation team of the elite force conducted a drive in Pashchim Pathanpara area of the district town at around 6:30 pm, and arrested Rabiul along with the hemp.
