Bangladesh registered their maiden Test win on Pakistani soil, defeating the hosts by 10 wickets at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Sunday to take a 1-0 lead in the two-match Test series.

Resuming from an overnight score of 23 for one, Pakistan lost their skipper Shan Masood in the second over of the day, adding only two runs to his previous day's score of 12. Liton Das then dropped an easy catch of Babar Azam in the next over, but young pacer Nahid Rana didn't allow Babar to go far.

Nahid dismissed him for 22 runs. Pakistan were 67 for three at that point, but quickly slumped to 67 for four as Shakib Al Hasan sent back Saud Shakeel for a duck. The first-innings centurion lasted only four balls.

Shakib struck again to remove Abdullah Shafiq, who scored 37, while Agha Salman returned with a golden duck on the first ball he faced.

Bangladesh had a dream session, allowing only 85 runs while picking up five wickets. Pakistan were still trailing by nine runs with four wickets in hand.

Bangladesh's dominance continued after the lunch break, as they took a wicket in the second over.

Shaheen Shah Afridi was dismissed for two runs leaving Pakistan reeling. Mohammad Rizwan, who scored a century in the first innings, made another fifty before getting out for 51 as the Tigers closed in on victory. Naseem Shah was dismissed for three and Muhammad Ali couldn't score, as Pakistan were bowled out for 146 runs, their lowest total against Bangladesh.

The previous lowest was 175 runs, in Multan in 2003, a match Pakistan won by one wicket-a defeat that Bangladesh had long regretted.

Mehidy Hasan Miraz took the most wickets for Bangladesh with four, while Shakib claimed three. The remaining three wickets were shared equally among the pacers Hasan Mahmud, Shoriful Islam, and Nahid Rana.

Needing only 30 runs to win, Bangladesh's openers Zakir Hasan and Shadman Islam secured the victory in just 6.3 overs.

Earlier, Bangladesh won the toss and opted to bowl first, inviting Pakistan to bat. The hosts declared their first innings at 448 runs for six wickets, thanks to brilliant batting performances from Saud Shakeel (141), Mohammad Rizwan (unbeaten 171), and Saim Ayub (56).

For Bangladesh, Hasan Mahmud and Shoriful Islam each claimed two wickets, with Shakib and Miraz sharing the remaining wickets equally.

In reply, Bangladesh posted an enormous 565-run total in their first innings, securing a 117-run lead. The innings was anchored by Mushfiqur Rahim's 191, with Shadman Islam contributing 93, Miraz 77, Liton Das 56, and Mominul Haque 50.

For Pakistan, Naseem Shah took three wickets, while Khurram Shahzad, Mohammad Ali, and Shaheen Shah Afridi each claimed two wickets, with Saim Ayub taking the remaining one.

Mushfiqur Rahim was named the Player of the Match for his 191-run sublime knock.
