LALMOHAN, BHOLA, Aug 17: Sporting is hampered due to lying trees on the playground of Lordhardinge High School in Lalmohan Upazila of the district.

At least 25 small and big trees have been lying scattered on the school field for the last two years. Students are deprived of sporting.

Locals said, many students are becoming drugs addicted as they are passing time with smartphones instead of playing.
A road from Raychand Bazar area to Lordhardinge Bazar is being developed.

That is why men of the contractor uprooted trees along both sides of the road and kept these here and there of the play ground.

Nobody came to remove these trees of Chamble species.

Acting Head Teacher of Lordhardinge High School Rekha Ferdaus said, trees were planted much earlier by the high school; in fact, the land belongs to the primary school. "So we can't remove these," she added.

She further said, "We talked with the primary school teachers and the managing committee about removing the trees."

Head Teacher of Burirchar Government Primary School Mawlana Abdur Razzak said, "These are our trees. I have talked with upazila primary education officer about removing these. He asked me to remove the trees in a resolution."

"Now we are working to prepare a resolution. After opening of the school we will remove the trees within few days," he added.
Lalmohan Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md Towhidul Islam said, "I will ask authorities concerned to remove these trees soon so that students and local youths can play freely."
