5 retired addl secretaries made secretaries on contractual basis

Five additional secretaries who went on retirement earlier have been appointed to the post of secretary on contractual basis for two years.

The officials who have been appointed secretaries belong to the BCS 82 batch. The Ministry of Public Administration issued a notification on Saturday.

Among them, Dr Sheikh Abdur Rashid has been made as the secretary to the Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Division; Md Ehsanul Huq as the secretary to the Road Transport and Highways Division; Dr Mohammad Abdul Momen as the secretary to the Public Security Division; Dr Nasimul Ghani as the secretary to the Public Division of the President's Office; and MA Akmal Hossain Azad as the secretary to the Ministry of Railways.

It may be mentioned that they went on retirement from the post of additional secretary during the tenure of Awami League government.
