US Embassy in Dhaka closed indefinitely

The US Embassy in Dhaka has announced an indefinite closure of its regular operations. The announcement was made on Tuesday afternoon through the Embassy's official Facebook page.

The Embassy stated that all routine consular services are currently suspended until further notice. Individuals with upcoming visa appointments are advised to await further instructions regarding the resumption of regular consular services.

During student protests demanding reforms to the quota system in government jobs, the US Embassy in Dhaka advised its citizens to exercise caution while traveling. Additionally, the embassy announced a closure of its services to the general public on July 18.
