The leaders and activists of Gopalganj district Awami League and its associate bodies on Wednesday took oath to bring former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina back to Bangladesh.
After placing wreaths at the Bangabandhu Mausoleum, they took the oath.
District Awami League President Mahbub Ali Khan administered the oath on the Mausoleum ground.
They took oath not to return home until Sheikh Hasina, the eldest daughter of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman is brought back to the country.
"We are taking oath that we would take revenge of all injustice done to Sheikh Hasina. From today, it will be our movement to bring back Sheikh Hasina," they said touching the grave of Bangabandhu.
Among others, district Awami League General Secretary GM Shahabuddin Azam, Tungipara town unit President Sheikh Saiful Islam also spoke,
Parading from Gopalganj, the leaders and activists of Awami League reached the mausoleum ground.
Later, they offered prayers for eternal peace of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib and his family members who were assassinated on August 15, 1975.
On Tuesday, the district unit Awami League took out a procession in Gopalganj district town.
