Curtain falls on Quota Reform Movement from DB office 

All 6 coordinators issue statement from custody

All six coordinators of the quota reform movement announced cancellation of all programmes from the custody of the Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police on Sunday. 

In a written statement they said, "Many people were injured and killed unexpectedly due to the quota reform movement and the situation that arose in its wake. Apart from this, there have been various violent incidents including arson in state buildings. We strongly condemn these untoward incidents and demand fair investigation and speedy trial."

They said, "Our main demand was rational reform of quotas, which has already been fulfilled by the government. Now we urge the government to open educational institutions quickly to ensure a fair environment for education."

We are withdrawing our programme from this moment in the interest of all, said the coordinators.
Coordinators Nahid Islam, Sarjis Alam, Hasnat Abdullah, Md Abu Bakr, Asif Mahmud, Nusrat Tabassum signed the statement.
