Jatiyo Chatra Samaj demands not to harass ordinary students

President of Jatiyo Chatra Samaj Central Executive Committee Md Al Mamun and General Secretary Md Ashraful Islam Khan said in a joint statement sent to the media on Sunday that all the students who participated in the quota reform movement with logical demands are being harassed in various ways, which is the responsibility of the government. 

''We do not agree with the words of the three ministers. The agitating students were not involved in any destructive activities, yet we are getting news that various government forces and organizations are blocking the houses and bringing the students and giving false and harassing cases which is very sad'', the statement said. 

They said Jatiyo Chatra Samaj Rangpur district member secretary Md Arif Ali, Rangpur city general secretary Alamgir Hossain Jasim were arrested and false cases were filed against many leaders and activists of Jatiya Chhatra Samaj. They have done because hundreds of students and ordinary people have been killed. They demanded the formation of a judicial investigation commission for a proper investigation of all the casualties and violence.

The Jatiyo Chatra Samaj now demands to gradually bring back the fair environment of education in the campuses including Dhaka University and ensure the safety and security of the students and also to withdraw all harassment cases filed in the name of ordinary students and student leaders.
