Elderly man killed in Natore road accident

An elderly man was killed after a truck ran him over at Gurudaspur upazila in Natore district on Sunday morning.

The incident occurred at around 7:00 AM in Noya Bazar area on the Bonpara-Hartikumrul highway in the upazila.

The deceased was identified as Shahadat Hossain, 60, hailed from Koigati Sorpara village under Ullapara upazila in Sirajganj district. 

Md Hashem Ali, deceased's younger brother, said that a Rajshahi-bound truck ran over Hashem Ali while he was crossing the road in the area, leaving him dead on the spot.
Md Alimul Islam. officer-in-charge of Highway Police Station, confirmed the matter. 

Legal procedures are under process in this regard, the police official added.
