Harun-Ur-Rashid joins Bangla Academy as DG

Former Vice Chancellor of Islamic University Prof M Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari on Wednesday joined Bangla Academy as Director General.

The notification of his appointment was issued on July 18.

Prof Harun was accorded reception at Shaheed Munir Chowdhury Meeting Room of the Bangla Academy.

Harun-Ur-Rashid, a Professor of English Language and Literature, expressed hope that the Bangla Academy would be turned into a world class research-oriented institution with support from all concerned.

He was appointed as Bangla Academy DG for three years.

Harun-Ur-Rashid succeeded Poet Muhammad Nurul Huda as  Director General of Bangla Academy.
