2 held with hemp in Bogura

Police arrested two drug peddlers including a woman along with hemp from Nandigram upazila in Bogura district on Friday afternoon.

The arrested people are Aktar Hossain, 24, hailed from Kurigram's Vurungamari upazila, and Roni Begum, 21, a resident of Bogura's Sherpur upazila.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of police conducted a raid at Birpoli Bazar area under Buril union in the upazila and arrested the duo. At that time, police recovered one kilogram and 100 grams of hemp from their possesions, said Azomongir Hossain, officer-in-charge of Nandigram Police Station.

The arrested people produced before the court after filing a case against them, the OC added.
