Judge Mohammad Ash-Shams Joglul Hossain of the Metropolitan Senior Special Judges Court of Dhaka passed the order after Anti-Corruption Commission Deputy Director Md Anowar Hossain, also the enquiry officer, prayed to the court in this regard.
ACC Public Prosecutor Mahmud Hossain Jahangir confirmed the matter to the Daily Observer on Thursday evening.
The ACC official said in his prayer, Matiur and his family members were attempting to transfer the properties and to launder the money. So, an order is needed to prevent them from making such attempts.
The immoveable properties are 71 bigha of land at Savar in Dhaka, Bhaluka in Mymensingh, Gazipur, Singra in Natore and Shibpur in Narsingdi, and four flats (7,248 square feet) located in Mirpur in the capital.
The moveable properties are Tk 13,44,36,471 deposited in 116 bank accounts in the country.
In the first phase the same court on July 4 ordered attachment of four flats and 866 decimals of immovable property owned by Matiur Rahman.
In first phase confiscated properties of Matiur are located at Bashundhara Residential Area and Dhanmondi in Dhaka, Muladi in Barishal and Raipura in Narsingdi.
Earlier on June 24, the same court issued a travel ban on Matiur, his wife Laila and son Taufiqur.
Earlier, the ACC formed a three-member committee to enquire into the allegations brought against them over amassing a huge amount of wealth through illegal means.
The controversy surrounding Matiur intensified after a goat scam involving his son, Ifat Rahman.
Ifat purchased a sacrificial goat for a staggering Tk 15 lakh, sparking widespread curiosity and outrage on social media about the source of such a large sum of money.
