BPSC panel begins probe into question leak

A three-member committee formed by  Bangladesh Public Service Commission (BPSC) on Monday began probing question paper leakage by six BPSC officers and employees.

Immediately after getting the information, probe committee members discussed the issue and finalised the working procedures.
 
The committee will quiz all those involved with the incident, so that the probe report could be submitted within the stipulated period.

The committee led by the BPSC Joint Secretary Dr Abdul Alim Khan, has been given 15 working days to submit its report to the commission.

It is learnt that a question paper leakage gang  leaked questions of around 30 important examinations including BPSC exams.

The committee has been given responsibility to find out all those directly or indirectly involved with question paper leakages, so that the authorities could take steps to restore the image of BPSC.

Probe body head Abdul Alim Khan said that the BPSC has given freedom to work freely without any pressure and they will quiz the suspects.

"All officials and employees who are involved with the question paper preparation, printing, preservation and distribution process would be quizzed. Hope, we will be able to submit report within the stipulated time," he added.

Following an investigation report of a private television channel aired on Sunday which exposed leakage question papers of 30 recruitment exams, including the Bangladesh Civil 2Service (BCS), 17 people were arrested on Monday.
