UP chairman Robi murder case: 2 on 5-day remand

A court in Khulna on Tuesday placed two accused on a five-day remand in Sharafpur Union Parishad chairman Robiul Islam Robi murder case.

Earlier, police produced them before the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Court with 10-day remand appeal, but the court granted five-day remand for each of the accused.

On Monday, a team of detective branch of police conducted a drive at the office of Biswas Properties and arrested its owner Azgor Biswas Tara on charge of killing Robi, superintendent of Khulna Police Sayedur Rahman told BSS.

The team also seized arms and ammunition from the office.
The law enforcers arrested Towhidur Rahman Babu yesterday in connection with the killing.

Robi was shot at WAPDA intersection under Dumuria upazila by some miscreants on Saturday night. He was rushed to Dupuria Health Complex.

Later, he was shifted to Khulna Medical College Hospital where on duty doctor declared him dead.

On Sunday, Shaila Erin, wife of Robiul Islam, filed a murder case with Dumuria police station.
