The High Court has upheld the death penalty of serial killer Roshu Kha in Parvin murder case of Chandpur district.
In the same case, two other accused -- Roshu Kha's nephew Jahirul Islam, 35, and his associate Md Yunus, 38, were given life-term jail sentence from death penalties.
The verdict was announced by the High Court bench of Justice Syed Md Ziaul Karim and Justice KM Imrul Kayesh.
Serial killer Roshu Kha was arrested from Tongi on October 2009. The two others are Jahirul Islam, Roshu's nephew, and the killer's associate Yunus.
After arrest, he told the law enforcers that he had murdered a total of
11 female garment workers. He narrated to them about his life, how he
went to become a notorious criminal from a petty thief.
Roshu Kha was awarded death penalty in another case for murdering one Shahida, a garment worker, after rape in Chandpur Sadar in 2008.
Entrapping the victims by posing as lovers, he used to take the poor and needy girls from Savar and Tongi areas on the outskirts of the capital to Chandpur district and kill them after rape, admitted the criminal to police.
