Three people were arrested along with drugs in separate drives in two districts - Pirojpur and Kushtia, in two days.
PIROJPUR: A team of Detective Branch (DB) of police attested two drug paddlers in a drive on Saturday in the district and recovered 51 pieces of yaba tablets from them.
The arrestees are identified as Md Mithu Mirdha, 23, son of Md Mostafa Mirdha of Ward No, 6 of Durgapur Union in Sadar Upazila, and Md Rana Sheikh,22, son of Md Mannan Sheikh of Durgapur Village at Ward No 5 of the same union.
Being informed, the DB team conducted the drive in Brammonkhati Village at Ward No 1 of Pirojpur municipality and arrested them.
Sub-Inspector of Police Md Nurul Amin Hawlader led the drive.
A case has been filed in the connection with Sadar Police Station (PS).
Officer-in-Charge of the PS Md Sahiqur Rahman confirmed the matter.
DAULATPUR, KUSHTIA: Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested a man along with 50 bottles of phensedyl from Daulatpur Upazila in the district on Friday.
The arrested person is Md Jabbar, 40, son of Islam Sarder, a resident of Bhurka Para Village under Moricha Union in the upazila.
RAB-11 CPC-1 Kushtia Camp Company Commander M Abul Hashem Sabuj confirmed the matter in a press release.
He said acting on a tip-off, a team of the elite force conducted a drive in Gachhia Daulatpur Village at around 3:50 pm, and detained Jabbar along with the phensedyl worth about Tk 1.5 lakh.
A case under the Narcotics Control Act was filed with Daulatpur PS in this regard, the RAB official added.
