Collision between two buses leaves elderly man dead

An elderly man was killed in a collision between two buses in Joypurhat district town on Tuesday.

The accident took place around 5am on Tuesday at Bamonpur four-way intersection area of the town.
Deceased Habibullah, 80, was a resident of Bamonpur Dattapara area under Joypurhat Sadar upazila.

Citing the victim's family members and witnesses, Joypurhat Police Station officer-in-charge Humayun Kabir said two sleeper buses collided head-on in the intersection and rammed Habibullah when he was on the way home on foot. He died on the spot.

On information, police recovered the body from the spot and sent to Joypurhat General Hospital morgue for autopsy, he said.

An unnatural death case was filed in this regard, added the OC.
