Police recovered the hanging
body of an elderly man from Fakirhat upazila in
Bagerhat district on Monday afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Kartik Pal, 72, son of late Kenaram Pal, a resident of Pal Mansa Palpara area in the upazila. He used to run a tea stall in the area.
Police sources said, locals spotted that Kartik was hanging from a branch of a mango tree near to his house and rescued him. He was taken to a local health complex where the physicians declared him dead.
Fakirhat Model Police Station officer-in-charge Md Ashrafur Alam said police recovered the body from the hospital and sent to Bagerhat Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Confirming the information, Assistant Police Superintendent of Police in Bagerhat Md Rabiul Islam Shamim said the body was handed over to the family after completion of the legal procedures.
