Bangladesh Meteorological Department on Tuesday forecast that the ongoing mild heat wave is likely to continue at six places across the country in the next 24 hours commencing 9:00am on Tuesday, reports BSS.
"Mild heat wave is sweeping over Rajshahi and Khulna divisions and the districts of Tangail, Faridpur, Manikganj, Rangpur, Sayedpur and Patuakhali and it may continue," said a weather bulletin issued in the morning.
"Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country. Due to excessive moisture, discomfort may persist," it added.
"Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Rangpur, Mymensingh, Sylhet and Chattogram divisions; at a few places over Rajshahi, Dhaka and Barisal divisions and at one or two places over Khulna division with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over Rangpur, Mymensingh, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions," it added.
Country's maximum temperature on Monday was recorded 38.7 degrees Celsius at Rajshahi. While, today's minimum temperature 24.1 degrees Celsius was recorded at Bandarban.
Rainfall for the last 24 hours commencing 6:00am on Tuesday was recorded 57mm at Sylhet.
The sun sets at 6:50pm on Tuesday and rises at 5:11am on Wednesday in the capital.
