'There is no harm in allowing transit between countries'

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said on Tuesday that she would never sell out the country or its interests to anyone.

"Sheikh Hasina does not sell out the country nor does she compromise its interests because she knows the pain the nation endured to attain independence."

The prime minister emphasized that there is no harm in allowing transit between countries.

The prime minister said this while addressing a press conference at her official residence Ganabhaban to apprise the media of the outcome of her June 21-22 state visit to India.

"The railways which were closed (with India), are being opened slowly. It is playing a vital role in the economy.It is playing a vital role in the economy. Will we close the doors around Bangladesh? Look at Europe, there are no borders. Is there a country selling another country?"
