At least 262 people were killed and 543 were injured in 251 road crashes during the 13 days centering the Eid-ul-Azha from June 11 to June 23.
Road Safety Foundation on Monday through a press release said among the deceased, 32 were women and 44 children.
It said of the casualties, 104 were killed in 129 bike-related crashes during this period which is 39.69 per cent of the total deaths.
The statistics indicated that bike-related deaths rose by 13.31 per cent compared to the same period last year.
The foundation prepared the report compiling the information from nine national dailies and seven online news portals
Referring to IRAP (International Road Assessment Program) method, the organization said the country incurred Tk 998.55 crore loss of human resources due to the road crashes.
The Foundation said 97 accidents (38.64pc) happened on national highways, 91 happened on regional highways, 28 on rural roads, 32 on urban roads, and 3 on other locations.
