BOGURA, June 23: This years sacrificial animals exceeded the toll of the last years Eid-ul-Azha in the district.
This year, 4, 28,148 animals were sacrificed in the district, higher by 1,05,254 ones compared to last years.
This information was confirmed by Nasrin Parvin, additional district livestock services officer.
The sacrificed animals included cow 19,080, ox-bull 1, 8,072, buffalo 1,692, goat 2,79,444, and sheep 19,860.
This year, 7, 34,415 animals were prepared in Bogura. Now the surplus animals stand at 29,155.
In the last year, 3, 22,890 animals were sacrificed in Bogura; these included cow 2,70,041, buffalo 2,266, goat 4,22,022, and sheep 39,851.
Compared to last years, this years sacrificing cows have been less by 1, 42,616 animals.
Goat sacrificing has been less by 1, 42,813 against last years 4, 22,257.
