SM Habibur Rahman, Abul Hossain, and Md Motahar Hossain were elected chairman unofficially for Rupsha, Dacope and Batiaghata upazila Parishad in Khulna respectively in the 4th phase of upazila Parishad election held on Wednesday.
The results were announced unofficially in the Khulna District Administration conference room on Wednesday night.
In Rupsha Upazila Parishad: SM Habibur Rahman was elected chairman. He secured 25,777 votes while his nearest rival candidate Sardar Ferdous Ahmed bagged 24,066 votes.
Besides, Md. Abdullah Zobayer was elected vice chairman and Sharmin Sultana Runa was elected the female vice chairman.
Abul Hossain was elected as chairman in Dacope upazila. He bagged 36,329 votes while his nearest rival candidate Md. Saiful Islam got 18,261 votes.
Kishore Kumar Roy was elected as Vice Chairman and Fatema Akhtar as Female Vice Chairman of the upazila.
In Batiaghata upazila, Motahar Hossain won by getting 33,787 votes. His closest rival district Awami League leader Shrimonto Adhikari Rahul got 33,054 votes.
Tuhin Roy was elected vice chairman in the upazila and Runa Laila was elected female vice chairman.
