College student crushed under CU shuttle train

CHATTOGRAM, June 5: A college student was crushed under the wheels of  a Chittagong University  shuttle  train in  Sholashahar 2 gate area in  Chattogram city on Wednesday  morning.
The deceased was identified as Irfan, 19, son of Mahbubur Alam of Sundarpur area in Fatikchhari upazila and a student of class XI of Humanities Department of CMP School and College.
SM Shahidul Islam, officer-in-charge of Railway Police Station, said Irfan was walking  on the rail tracks wearing headphones.
It is believed that as he was listening to music, he didn hear the sound of the approaching train, he said.
Later, police recovered the body.
Nurul Alam Asheque, in-charge of the CMCH police outpost, said Irfan was rushed to the hospital where doctors declared him dead.
The body was kept at CMCH morgue for autopsy, he added.    —UNB
