Chittagong Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (CVASU) Teacher's Association observed a half-day strike demanding withdrawal of pension notification and individual pay scale.
The strike was observed at CVASU campus on Tuesday from 08:00 am to 01:00 pm as part of the central program announced by Federation of Bangladesh University Teachers’ Association (FBUTA).
In the program, the teachers of CVASU took position in front of the administrative building and Shaheed Minar premises of the university.
The speakers in the program said that they demanded immediate withdrawal of the pension scheme notification issued by the Ministry of Finance. Besides, for the sake of development of education and research, the introduction of separate pay scale for university teachers is demanded and informed.
CVASU Teachers' Association General Secretary Prof Dr Md Mejbah Uddin, Food Science and Technology department dean Prof Dr Ferdousi Aktar, Dean Faculty of Fisheries Prof Dr Sheikh Ahmad-al-Nahid, President and Director (Planning and Development) of Bangabandhu Teachers Forum Prof Dr Md Alamgir Hossain, Prof Dr Md Kabirul Islam Khan, Prof Dr Md Imran Hossain, Prof Dr Md Mahbubur Rahman, Prof Dr Zakia Sultana Juthi, Assistant Proctor Dr Md Riduan Pasha, Assistant Provost Dr Tanvir Ahmad Nizami were present at the event.
