Didarul Alam elected chairman of Patiya upazila

Didarul Alam Didar, joint secretary of Chattogram metropolitan unit Juba League, has been election as the chairman of Patiya Upazila Parishad in Chattogram in the 3rd phase of 6th upazila Parishad election held on Wednesday.

Didarul Alam earned 56,541 votes while his rival candidate Md Harunur Rashid, general Secretary of upzila Awami League, got 46,143 votes in Patiya Upazila Parishad elections.

Patiya Upazila Election Officer and Assistant Returning Officer Ariful Islam announced the result on Wednesday night.

Abu Saleh Shahriar and Mazeda Begum Shiru were elected as Vice Chairman and Mohila Vice Chairman in the upazila.

Among the 128 poling centres, voting at Pingla Government Primaryh School of Kasiais Union was suspended for the irregularities.
