Babu elected as chairman in Satkhira Sadar, Laltu in Kalaroa

Mashiur Rahman Babu and Aminul Islam Laltu were elected as the chairmen of Sadar and Kalaroa upazilas of Satkhira in the third phase of sixth upazila parishad elections on Wednesday ( May 29).

In Sadar upazila, Mashiur Rahman got 31,196 votes with 'Plough symbol', while his closest candidate SM Shawkat Hossain secured 23,042 votes.

Meanwhile, Aminul Islam Laltu has been re-elected as Kalaroa upazila chairman getting 47,084 votes, while his nearest competitor Altaf Hossain Laltu secured 42,741 votes.

The results were announced by returning officers on Wednesday night.
