Jamaat leader Azharul Islam jailed for 2yrs

Jamaat-e-Islami leader ATM Azharul Islam and 10 others have been jailed for two years in a sabotage case filed 14 years ago.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Rajesh Chowdhury on Tuesday handed down the verdict.

Adv Mujahidul Islam, lawyer of Azharul Islam, confirmed the matter after the judgement.

The court gave the jail term under two separate sections, he said.

The case has been filed with Motijheel Police Station.
