BCL holds rally on campuses for independent Palestine

Hundreds of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) leaders and activists of central unit, Dhaka University (DU) unit and its hall units, Dhaka North and South metropolis chapters on Monday demonstrated on DU campus expressing solidarity with the ongoing students movement across the world for establishment of independent Palestine state.

They held the demonstration at DUs Madhur Canteen holding flags of Bangladesh and Palestine, chanting slogans supporting  war torn Palestine.

Later, they took out a procession holding Palestines flag.

They terminated the procession at the base of Raju Memorial Sculpture.

BCL leaders condemned the barbarity and genocide in Gaza perpetrated by Israel and demanded immediate ceasefire.

They also slammed the countries that have been supporting and providing arms to Israel to kill innocent Palestinians.

BCL General Secretary Sheikh Wali Asif Enan said, "Chhatra League will always stand by the downtrodden and the oppressed people. We want to build a peaceful world."

"The rally is not of Chhatra League alone, but of all freedom-loving people. So this student movement is not confined to Bangladesh.  Differences in language and frontiers disappeared for the sake of the establishment of a peaceful world," BCL President Saddam Hussain said.

Two students of Palestine pursuing higher education in Bangladesh, also addressed the rally.

They thanked the government and Chhatra League for their unequivocal support to Palestine.

 BCL DU unit President Mazharul Kabir Shoyon and General Secretary Tanbir Hasan Shaikat addressed the rally.

JnU Correspondent reported that Jagannath University Chhatra League held a rally on JnU campus supporting the movement for establishment of independent Palestine.

JnU students expressed solidarity with worldwide protests being held against killing of Palestinian people by Israel.

They held the protest rally as part of the Central Chhatra Leagues ongoing protests against Israeli atrocities in  Gaza.

JnU Chhatra League President Ibrahim Forazi and Secretary S M Akhter Hossain  led the protests.

Later they took out a procession from the premises of Shaheed Minar of  Jagannath University and  went round Kathaltola of the campus, Shankhari Bazar, Raisaheb Bazar and Bahadur Shah Park and ended in front of Jagannath University Vice Chancellors office.

The condemned genocide being committed by Israel in Gaza, chanting  slogans, Let  tyranny end, free Palestine, Stop the genocide, Liberate Palestine.

In a brief meeting, the secretary of the JnU Chhatra League, S M Akhter Hossain said, "We are expressing solidarity with the movement of the student community all over the world to protest against Israeli atrocities and genocide in occupied Gaza."

He demanded arrest of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for committing massacre in Gaza.

JnU Chhatra League President Ibrahim Faraji said "Israels attacks and killings on innocent Palestinians have shaken the conscience of people across the whole.

Thats why he said, university students across the world are holding demonstration in protest against Israels atrocities against Palestininians.

The Jagannath University Chhatra League organised the protest march and rally in support of the struggling and persecuted people of Palestine.

Its time to stand against America which is fueling the war unjust in Gaza, said protesters.
