Two people, including a house owner, died inhaling toxic gas inside a septic tank while cleaning the tank at a house in Raipur upazila of Lakshmipur district on Sunday night.
The deceased were owner of the house Riyad Hossain, son of Noor Nabi Leda of the area, and a cleaner residents of the area but his detained information could not be known immediately.
Officer-in-charge (OC) of Raipur Police Station Yasin Farooq Majumdar said the cleaner entered the septic tank of the house in West Rakhalia village of Sonapur union under of the upazila and got trapped inside the tank.
Later, the owner of the house Riyad went down rescue him around 8pm on Sunday night died there inhaling toxic gas.
Being informed, police and fire service rushed to the spot and recovered the bodies, he said.
The bodies were kept at the Raipur Upazila Health Complex.
