Two life term convicts held in Tongi

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested two convicts, who were sentenced to life-term imprisonment in a narcotics case, from Tongi Purbo Thana area on Friday night.
 
The arrestees were Md Monirul Islam, 35, of Rajshahi Poba Thana area and Md Masud Rana, 21, hailing from Mymensingh's Haluaghat.
 
RAB senior assistant director (Media) Senior ASP Shihab Karim on Saturday said acting on a tip-off, members of RAB-2 conducted a drive in Tongi Purbo Thana area in Gazipur and arrested them around 8pm on Friday
 
On June 28, 2018, they were arrested with 195 bottles of Phensidyl. A case was filed with Uttara West Thana in this regard. They were absconding after securing bail, he said.
 
They were handed over to Uttara West Thana, he added.
