Death toll rises to 8

Fire Service's diving team has recovered two more bodies, who went missing after a trawler capsized in the Meghna on March 22.

Now the death toll stands at 8.

Fire Service's DAD Enamul Haque said the bodies were found in a floating condition around 7:45am.

The deceased were identified as constable Sohel Rana, 30, hailed from Cumilla's Debidwar upazila; and electrician Belon Dev, 50, from Katiadi upazila.

The bodies will be handed over to families through legal procedure, DAD Enamul said.

Sohelâ€™s son Raisul, 5, is still missing.

On March 22, a trawler capsized after being hit by a sand-laden bulkhead around 6pm in the part of the river flowing through Bhairab upazila of Kishoreganj district.
