Youth's body recovered from septic tank in Gaibandha

Police recovered the body of a young man on Tuesday from a septic tank three days after missing in Gaibandha's Sadar upazila.

Shafiqur Rahman Pavel Akand, 38, son of Ballamjhar Union Awami Leage president Abdus Samad Akand, hailed from Raghunathpur village under Ballamjhar union.
According to police, Pavel Akand left his house on Saturday (March 9) evening and went missing. Belal Yusuf Rasel, elder brother of the missing Pavel Akand, filed a general diary with Gaibandha Sadar Police Station on Sunday in this regard.

Later, in the morning, local people spotted the body in the septic tank of one Sirajul Islam's abandoned house at Raghunathpur village and informed police.

Being informed, police recovered the body from the spot and sent it to morgue for autopsy.

Gaibandha Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Masud Rana confirmed it.

''Efforts are underway to identify and arrest those involved in the incident'', the OC said.
