Ruling Awami League-backed Sammilito Ainjibi Samannaya Parishad (SASP) panel, known as White Panel, won a landslide victory in the Dhaka Bar Association election, bagging 21 posts out of 23.
The SASP panelist Abdur Rahman Hawlader was elected the President and Anwar Shahadat Shawon General Secretary for the 2024-25 session.
Among others, Abul Kalam Mohammad Akhter Hossain was elected Senior Vice-President, Md Abu Taib, Vice-President, Md Omar Farukh, Treasurer, Md Masrat Ali Tuhin, Senior Assistant General Secretary, Asaduzzaman Babu, Assistant General Secretary, Humayun Kabir Sabuj, Library Secretary, Monira Begum Moni, Cultural Secretary, Sorowar Jahan, Office Secretary, Md Wakilur Rahman, Sports Secretary, Syed Farida Yasmin Jessy, Information and Communication Secretary and Prodip Chandra Sarker, Welfare Secretary.
Amdadul Huq, Hafiz Al Mamun, Kazi Humayun Kabir, Mahamudul Hasan, Md Abdur Rahman Miah, Md Emran Hasan, Shahin Ahmed Rupon and Sumon Ahamed were elected from White Panel while Md Anwar Hossain Chand and Gazi Tanjeel Ahmed were elected from Blue Panel.
Chief Election Commissioner Advocate Mokhlesur Rahman Badal declared the results on Friday night.
Earlier, 9,690 members out of total 21,208 cast their ballots in the two-day polls that took place on Wednesday and Thursday.
