Teacher among two die in Tongi road crash

Two persons including a teacher of DUET were killed when a bus hit a motorcycle in Gazipur's Tongi on Tuesday.

The accident took place around 11:30 am at Cherag Ali flyover junction on the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway.
The deceased were Ramchandra Saha, 42, was a resident of Ramchandrapur area of Mohammadpur in Dhaka, and Pathao rider Didar Hossain, 40, hailed from Narayanganj's Araihajar.

Ramchandra Saha was a teacher in Architecture Department at Dhaka University of Engineering and Technology (DUET).

According to police and eyewitnesses, a motorcycle bound for Gazipur collided with a Dhaka-bound passenger bus of 'Prabhati Banshri Paribahan' in that area. The motorcycle rider Didar Hossain and the pillion Ramchandra Saha fell down on road. Didar Hossain died on the spot and Ramchandra Saha was seriously injured.

He was rushed to Tongi Ahsan Ullah Master General Hospital where doctors declared him dead.

Tongi East Police Station Officer-in-Charge Mostafizur Rahman confirmed the news.
