Padma Bank gets Md Afzal Karim as new Chairman

CEO and Managing Director of state owned Sonali Bank PLC Md Afzal Karim has been appointed as new Chairman of Padma Bank PLC.
 
According to the BRPD circular DA/ 2024-998, Afzal Karim will perform the role of the chairman of the fourth generation bank until further notice, says a press release.

Prior to joining as CEO and Managing Director of Sonali Bank PLC, he was managing director of Bangladesh House Building Finance Corporation.

He had previously worked as Deputy Managing Director of Sonali Bank PLC and Bangladesh Krishi Bank respectively.

Karim was only awarded the Integrity Award among all MDs and CEOs of Banks and Financial Institutions under Financial Institution Division, Ministry of Finance for 2021-2022 financial year in recognition of his honesty and efficiency.
