
The Office of the honorary Consul of Uruguay has been formally opened in Dhaka on Thursday.
Alberto A Guani, Ambassador of Uruguay to India and concurrently accredited to Bangladesh and Sri Lanka formally opened the office in Dhaka at Dragon Tower, Malibagh Chowdhury Para in the Capital.
Addressing the event the envoy laid emphasis on people-to-people relations between Bangladesh and Uruguay to understand the development models of both counties and the tremendous socio-economic developments they witnessed over the past several decades.
Managing Director of Dragon Group and Honorary Consul of Uruguay in Dhaka Mostafa Q Sobhan received the Ambassador at the new office and later the envoy opened it through ribbon cutting in presence of other guests.
Earlier a reception was accorded to the Ambassador at Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in the city on Wednesday. Mayor of Dhaka North City Corporation Md Atiqul Islam was present as chief guest.
