PSTU VC Prof Hafiza elected  Asiatic Society VP

PABNA, Jan 31: Vice-Chancellor (VC) of Pabna Science and Technology University (PSTU) Professor Dr  Hafiza Khatun has been elected vice-president of Bangladesh Asiatic Society.

The election was held on Tuesday afternoon.

Chief Election Commissioner Professor Sharifullah Bhuiyan announced the result. She has been elected for the second time with 533 votes.

Former VC of National University Prof Harun-Or-Rashid has been made president, and Prof Mohammad Siddikur Rahman Khan of Dhaka University general secretary.

Professor Dr Hafiza Khatun was born on 12 July 1954. She joined the teaching profession in the Department of Geography (Department of Geography and Environment) of Dhaka University in 1986.
 
After retiring from a long teaching career at Dhaka University, she is currently serving as the VC of PSTU from April 12, 2022.
