Police recovered the
hanging body of a Notre Dame College (
NDC)
student from a dormitory in
Mymensingh city on Tuesday night.
The body was recovered around 9.30pm on Tuesday from his room at 'Nabil' dormitory of the college situated in the city's Digharkanda area.
Deceased Imtiaz Galib Ridom, 17, was son of Rafiqul Islam who hailed from Pabna's Chatmohor upazila and was an 11th grader of the college.
Quoting the deceased's friends, Kotwali Model Police Station inspector Anowar Hossain said Ridom returned to the hostel on Tuesday afternoon. Subsequently, his friends broke into the room as he was not responding their calls from inside and saw him hanging from the ceiling fan of the room.
Being informed, police recovered the body from the spot and sent it to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy, he said.
The family members of the victim were informed about the matter and the legal action was underway in this regard, added the police official.
