GM Quader appointed opposition leader, Anisul Islam deputy

Jatiya Party Chairman GM Quader has been appointed the opposition party leader of the 12th parliament.

He was appointed by Speaker Shirin Sarmin Chaudhury on Sunday under Section 2(1) of the Rules of Procedure of the Parliament of Bangladesh.

The announcement was issued in a gazette signed by KM Abdus Salam, Senior Secretary at the Parliament Secretariat.     
Additionally, Chattogram-5 lawmaker Anisul Islam Mahmud was appointed the deputy leader of the opposition party in parliament.

Earlier, the Jatiya Party has elected Secretary General Mujibul Haque Chunnu as chief whip of the opposition. However, no notification was issued yet regarding the appointment of Chunnu.
