Professor Dr. M Lutfar Rahman, Vice Chancellor of Daffodil International University has been appointed as a part time member of Bangladesh Accreditation Council (BAC) along with three others.
This appointment was given in a notification signed by Dr. Forhad Hossain, Deputy Secretary of Secondary and Higher Education Department (Private University Branch-1) of the Ministry of Education on Tuesday, says a press release.
He will serve in this position for the next two years. A total of four people, including researchers and professors from India and Abu Dhabi, have been appointed as part-time members of the Bangladesh Accreditation Council (BAC).
The other appointed part-time members are Jagannath Patil, advisor and researcher of the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), Bangalore, India, Dr. Mohammad Farasuddin, former Governor of Bangladesh Bank and member of Association of Private Universities of Bangladesh and Professor Habibul Haque Khandkar, Social Science Department of Zayed University of Abu Dhabi.
It may be mentioned here that Bangladesh Accreditation Council (BAC) is an autonomous government body responsible for accreditation and quality assurance of higher education institutions and entities offering academic programs. The Council was established under the Bangladesh Accreditation Council Act, 2017. Professor Mesbahuddin Ahmed,Former Vice-Chancellor of Jagannath University is serving as the chairman of the council.
