AL wins 3 seats, Ind 2 in Gaibandha

Awami League (AL) nominated candidates won three seats and independent two in the 12th parliamentary election in Gaibandha.

In Gaibandha-1 (Sundarganj) Constituency, independent candidate Abdullah Nahid Nigar was elected with 66,149 votes. His nearest candidate Shamim Haider Patwari bagged 43,491 votes with plough symbol.

Independent candidate Shah Sarwar Kabir won in Gaibandha-2 (Sadar) constituency by getting 64,190 votes with truck symbol. His nearest rival candidate Abdur Rashid Sarkar bagged 61.37 votes with plough symbol.

In Gaibandha-3 (Sadullapur-Palashbari) constituency, Umma Kulsum Smriti, a candidate of boat, won by getting 57,115 votes. His nearest independent candidate Mofizul Haque bagged 26,382 votes with eagle symbol.

In Gaibandha-4 (Gobindganj) constituency, boat candidate Abul Kalam Azad won by getting 2,01,171 votes. His nearest independent candidate Monowar Hossain Chowdhury got 27,450 votes with truck symbol.

In Gaibandha-5 (Phulchhari-Saghata) seat, Mahamud Hasan Ripon of boat symbol was elected with 1,07,397. His nearest independent candidate Farzana Rabbi Bubli got 63,526 votes with truck symbol.

Gaibandha Returning Officer and Deputy Commissioner Kazi Nahid Rasul confirmed the information.
