KHULNA, Jan 3: In order to smoothen and ease revenue collection through online system to make the Mongla Sea Port as smart port, the Mongla Port Authority (MPA) has open e-Payment System Service on Tuesday.
MPA Chairman Rear Admiral Mir Ershad Ali inaugurated the system through a function as chief guest, Md Makruzzaman, secretary of MPA, confirmed it to the Daily Observer on Wednesday.
Members of MPA Captain Md Asaduzzaman, Dr A K M Anisur Rahman, Chief Finance-cum-Accounts Officer Md Siddiqur Rahman, officials of MPA and representatives of BRAC Bank Plc were present.
The chief guest Rear Admiral Mir Ershad Ali said, the MPA has taken various steps to implement Smart Bangladesh and Vision-2041 through digitalization.
Mongla Sea Port, the second largest Sea Port of the Country, has been forwarded one step to turn Mongla Port as a Smart Port through opening e-Payment System Service, he said.
Mongla Port users in country and abroad will get all kinds of service including bill payment from now through the online system, he added.
