Two held with foreign pistols in city

The arrestees were arms trader Syed Milon and his assistant Md Alamgir Hossain.

DB Chief Mohammad Harun or Rashid said acting on a tip- off, a team of DB police, led by Additional Deputy Police Commissioner Md Anich Uddin, conducted a drive in Darussalam area and arrested Alamgir Hossain with a foreign pistol and three bullets.

Later, based on his given information, detectives arrested Syed Milon with another foreign pistol from a house in Jatrabari, the DB chief said.

He said the arrested Milon was an arms dealer and Alamgir was his assistant. He said that there are eight cases against Alamgir Hossain and nine cases against Syed Milon.

The DB chief informed the media that they kept these arms and bullets in custody to create panic in the public and carry out terrorist activities in the upcoming elections.
