BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia was transferred to the Coronary Care Unit (CCU) from her cabin on Monday evening as her condition deteriorated.
She was however, returned to her cabin 1 hour and 40 minutes the same evening.
Earlier, BNP media cell member Sayrul Kabir Khan confirmed the news and told the Daily Observer Khaleda Zia was transferred to the CCU at 6:30 pm as per the recommendation of medical board treating her.
The 78-year-old former prime minister has been suffering from various ailments, including liver cirrhosis, arthritis, diabetes, kidney, lung, heart, and vision problems.
The BNP Chairperson has been undergoing treatment at the hospital since August 9 for various health complications.
Since her conditional release from jail in 2020, the BNP chief has been receiving treatment at the hospital under a medical board headed by cardiologist Prof Shahabuddin Talukder.
