Voicing deep concern over the unnatural delay in submitting the investigation report into the recent cases related to child rape and murder, the Bangladesh Human Rights Foundation (BHRF) has demanded to dispose of the cases within 30 days.
The BHRF came up with the demand while addressing a discussion on the 75th International Human Rights Day.
BHRF founder chairperson advocate Alena Khan inaugurated the discussion meeting at Tasfia Garden in Chattogram, recently.
With senior human rights defender Sunil Kumar Sarkar in the chair, BHRF secretary general Zia Habib Ahsan conducted the session.
Jharna Begum, the mother of a child murder victim, was present as the chief guest while Rinat Sultana, a plaintiff in the murder case of two expatriate brothers of Chandanaish, was present as the special guest at the meeting.
Addressing the session, advocate Zia Habib Ahsan said that the human rights movement is not an easy job to do.
Zia Habib Ahsan was later elected as president of BHRF district president with AHM Jasim Uddin as secretary in the 19-member committee for the 2023-25 session.
Dr Shafiqul Islam was announced as president and advocate Syed Mohammad Harun as secretary in Chattogram metropolitan unit of the organisation.
