Azob Bazar opens for underprivileged people in Rajshahi

RAJSHAHI, Dec 11: A specialized shop titled "Azob Bazar" has been opened for the underprivileged people in the city on Monday.
Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) and Bidyananda Foundation jointly opened the shop at a simple ceremony at Nice Community Centre. Disadvantaged, underprivileged and other low- incoming people can buy seven essential items at Tk 7 from the shop.
RMP Commissioner Biplob Bijoy Talukder accompanied by its Additional Commissioner Bijoy Basak,
Deputy Commissioner Bibhuti Bhushan Banarjee and Vice chairman of Bidyananda Foundation
Faruque Hossain opened the shop.
Faruque Hossain told the opening ceremony that around 17 items, including onion, rice, pulse, egg and fish,  will be sold at Tk one per kilogram each from the shop for the welfare of the disadvantaged people.
He also said that they have prepared a list of the needy people after conducting a survey in the city and each of the enlisted families was given cards. The beneficiary families can purchase seven essential items at Tk seven only.     â€”BSS
