30 injured in Gopalganj clash

GOPALGANJ, Dec 11: At least 30 people were injured in a clash between the supporters of two union parishad (UP) members in Sadar Upazila of the district on Monday over establishing dominance.
The clash took place in Mahajan Bari Bridge area of Vennabari Village under Borashi Union in the upazila at around 10:30 am.
Local sources said Sekender Molla, member of Ward No. 5 of Borashi UP, and Mitu Molla, member of Ward No. 6 of the union, had a enmity over establishing supremacy in the area for long. Following this, on Monday morning, the supporters of both sides locked into a clash, which left at least 30 people from both sides injured.
On information, police visited the scene and brought the situation under control.
Officer-in-Charge of Gopalganj Sadar Police Station Anisur Rahman confirmed the incident.
