The Election Commission (EC) on Thursday issued a show cause notice to Mujibur Rahman Chowdhury Nixon, an independent candidate from Faridpur-4 constituency, for violating electoral code of conduct.
Nixon has also been asked to appear before the election search committee in-person at 3pm tomorrow (Friday) and reply to the notice.
The notice, signed by Joint District and Sessions Judge Mohammad Moin Uddin Chowdhury, who has been leading the Faridpur-4 election search committee, said, "You, Nixon Chowdhury, entered Faridpur city with huge a number of microbuses and over two hundreads of motorcycles from Bhanga's Dattapara after being declared as independent candidate from Faridpur-4 constituency."
"By doing so, you have violated the provisions of sections 8(a), 38(b) and 12 of the Code of Conduct for Political Parties and Candidates," according to the notice.
